Where to get airplay for ipad 2

The AirPlay icon is not showing up at all on my iPad. Just bought apple tv and was anxious to use the mirroring. Any suggestions??? I have a iPad 2 on 5. No issues. Will have to Check out real racing. Same problems… The ipad2 is up to date as is the atv3 that I just purchased… No AirPlay icon showing up after double tap or swiping. Help please. New apple tv today. Connected to Airmac ok and mirroring on ipad2 worked once but after closing down cant get it going again despite doing all the obvious etc etc.
